About Us

Meet the Owner - Chrystal Bais

As I say, follow your dreams and heart. It will never steer you wrong. Take that leap of faith and trust in God.

I was born and raised in WA state. When I was in high school, I said I wanted to move to Mexico.  I wasn't sure why, as I had never been down here before. I had my heart set. In 2011 I vacationed in Baja, and stayed for a month. I didn't want to leave, I fell in love.

My mom always let us have horses as it kept us out of trouble, gave us something to do after school, and my love for horses continued to grow as I followed my heart's desire.

When I got out of highschool I made a goal to move to Mexico before I was 30.  I moved down here in 2012 after selling my landscape business up north.

I started Desert Trails back in 2013 with 2 horses. I have been following my heart and dreams ever since.

Several years later I met my business partner. Together we have grown the business, and have our son Luke who loves to go riding with us.

We Can Pick You Up Near the Port of Ensenada

If you are in Ensenada, or coming to Ensenada on a cruise ship, we have one daily pickup between 9am - 9:15. This will give us plenty of time to drive to our ranch in time for your activity. We have several different vehicles, each with a Desert Trails magnet on the door. Either myself, Chrystal, or one of my helpers, will pick your group up and then drive you back to Ensenada after the ride. Our ranch is about 1/2 hr south of Ensenada between Punta Banda and Maneadero in the ranch lands.

Our pickup location is the steps outside of the Hotel Mision Santa Isabel

Directions for pickup location: As you walk away from the cruise ship dock, you will make a LEFT turn on the main street (blvd. Costero). This is the general direction most tourist walk to go to the "Zona Touristica" You will cross a bridge and if you look across the street (the tallest building in Ensenada will be there) to the right of this (across the street) is a hotel called "Hotel Mision Santa Isabel" with Spanish architecture. You want to cross the street, and meet us on the sidewalk. Which is on the street in-between the tallest building & "Hotel Mision Santa Isabel." I will meet you at the stairsteps in front of the middle of the sidewalk. You can't miss it! These instructions will also be sent to you in the confirmation email.

Your drivers below: either myself, Chrystal (on the left) or my friend, Ronald Allen (on the right).
